4-4.5 stars. Kensie is a character I could really empathize with. She's got a lot of great qualities, but she hasn't had the best experiences with men or love in general. Her own father is busy playing house with a different family and her first real boyfriend left her feeling inadequate. Kensie decides the best course of action is to not let her heart get involved again because she cannot handle any more heartbreak. Her best friends Lennon and Capri are encouraging her to let loose and open up again.

Kensie sees August at a tattoo parlor and while there's an inexplicable draw between the two of them, Kensie buries her interest and doesn't bother to get to know him...only to find out later that he's going to be unavoidable due to his connection to someone close to her. Since she isn't really trying to get to know him, makes certain assumptions about him and tries to stay away.

Before Kensie, August was living a life in the shadows. He had already dealt with tragedy and meeting Kensie was like a renewed spark for him. So even though Kensie has doubts and keeps her distance, August won't let her. He's determined to show her that they could share something amazing and that not all guys are let downs.

I really loved August, he had so many fantastic qualities, but most of all, he was very loving and supportive. He didn't give up easily and he would go to any length to make sure Kensie knew how special she was. As for Kensie, I could feel the depth of her pain and disappointment, especially with regards to her father.

This book was nicely written, but I couldn't overlook the multiple typos and editing errors. Otherwise, the story itself was well portrayed and sends a great message about loving oneself and having faith to trust again with second chances.

4.5 Stars!! Great job, Kimberly, on this wonderful debut novel. I generally gravitate toward sweet romance novels, but as I progressed further in the gripping story of Kensie and August, the harder it was to put this book down. Watching these characters fall for each other made my heart sing, especially as each of them struggled with painful past lives. Plus, I happen to be a big fan of that instant attraction/love at first sight phenomenon, so I adored that part of the story. I also thought it was great that Kensie and August had a similar passion to help others, as it gave their characters a depth you don't often see in N/A novels.

So if you're looking for an emotional, passion-filled, page-turning romance novel, I highly recommend Truth in Wildflowers. I promise you'll fall in love with Kensie and August and will be rooting for them the whole way through!
I LOVED this one so hard!!!!

Kensie has a trust issue. After her father left and started a new family, she's felt like she didn't know where her place was in life...she was floating. A failed high school relationship sends her spinning out of control until the events of one night scares her enough to set up limits...she doesn't date and she doesn't drink.

Fast forward 3 years and she's in college, but still floating. A chance meeting with August at a tattoo parlor starts to change that. August has his own problems, his own struggles, but when Kensie walked into that shop he started to hope again, hope that he could rewrite his story, hope that he could live again. "His eyes reflected the same hope I felt in my heart. True hope, the kind that only comes from living without it."

Can Kensie learn to trust August and trust herself enough to fall in love? Can August let go of his past enough to move on?

I LOVED everything about this book. The characters, the humor, the storyline, the message, and most of all, the author's writing style. Kimberly Rose has a way with words that just spoke to me. I would recommend this book to anyone and can't wait for the second book! Great new adult/college romance read!
Sometimes the truth can hurt and sometimes the truth can heal. Sometimes truth finds you in the least likely of places.
Kensie and August's story was a sweet NA novel. They both had something to hide from one another, but they both found it in each other. The truth, the hope and the will to live again.
I enjoyed the story. It was sweet and built up to what they created. There wasn't anything "real" physical until around 70% in. Of course kisses and such, but more of truth and smolder throughout. If you are looking for hot and sexy, then this isn't it. If you are looking for a sweet little love story, you've stumbled upon a good one.
The supporting characters were quite entertaining and I have a feeling we will be hearing from Wes and Capri very soon. Their story is waiting to be told. And then there is Kensie's mom and John, as well as Lennon. They all had a huge hand in the relationship that unfolded.
We heard it mostly from Kensie's POV, but August's POV is thrown in there as well. I would've loved to hear more from him though. He is one that makes you swoon.
A couple things that bugged me happened to be more grammar errors. Using 'too' instead of 'to' so many times that I lost count? I just couldn't understand it. The first time I thought it was just overlooked, but then I saw it happening again and again. There were more errors included in the story, but if a beta reader or editor went over it better, it wouldn't have seemed like such a rookie mistake. Because honestly, the story was there, the plot made sense, the supporting characters were all there and grew along with the main characters. Why not really look over the little mistakes that were all throughout?
Regardless, still a good, decent story if you can overlook the grammar/edit mistakes.
